What better way to celebrate the first day of spring than with my favourite refreshing, and spring-like body lotion and body wash!? If you haven’t tried True Botanicals Nourishing Body Washand Nourishing Body Lotionin FRESH, you’re seriously missing out! This duo is amazing together – heck, on their own too!
Live Inspired Organics; hand-crafted, body care created out of a passion cultivated in the belief that behind every superior product, there is a powerful story – now I can get behind that!
A story of all-natural, no harm and organic beauty as told by each beautiful ingredient.
So, what’s the story behind Live Inspired? Well, it’s pretty simple really – aren’t those the best kind of stories anyhow? ;) – nourishing, healing and renewing products are a result of the use of superior all-natural, pure and organic ingredients. These incredible ingredients, combined with all of the love and gratitude that’s poured into the products made make this company really stand out. Gina, their founder, is one of the sweetest souls! It’s been such a pleasure connecting with her over the past couple of months. She has a heart of gold, and you can really sense that in conversation (whether that be on Instagram or e-mail) and yep…products!
L to R: ZIT ZAP Spot Treatment Mask + BE WELL Body Wash
There are few moments in life, where I can truly say that I can’t get enough of a body wash. This is one of those rare moments. Watch out, folks, PLANT Apothecary is up to some good. You definitely want to be in on this!
When Gianne and Jay founded Organic Bath Co., they were inspired by brands who used their cache to make the world better through charitable donation. They knew that giving back would be a huge part of their brand’s ethos.
Plants. Herbs. Flowers. All beautiful things, and incredibly beneficial to our well-being. Not only within the food pyramid, but for our bodies and skin. So, what makesLaurel different from any other line of organic skincare? Their whole plant, flower and herb based ingredients. Their biodynamic and raw, unrefined whole plant ingredients. Their purity, unmatched.
I was incredibly excited to try out Laurel and after about a week of testing these lovely products (aren’t they packaged so elegantly?), here’s a quick little review of their benefits, ingredients and why you should try them out!

Hands down one of my favourite Laurel products to use at the moment. The Anti-inflammatory Serum does exactly what you think it does. It soothes, calms, and restores your skin. If I’m just a little bit red around my jawline, or nose, I gently pat it on those areas. It works wonders to dry skin too, and it has plant ingredients in it that have been linked to sun-protection. Here’s a little overview:
25 Beneficial Active Ingredients, some of which are:
Borage – reduces inflammation, high in essential fatty acids, prevents wrinkles and scarring

This Healing Balmis THE BOMB…or should I say the balm? (But really.) This thing works miracles. For example, I had some sort of dry patch near my mouth, applied a dab on it before bed and woke up to it completely soft and restored. Crazy! I love when products just simply work!

I’m aware, I’m aware…I’ve been gone for FOREVER. Like, really, forever…it’s been way too long. BUT, in the process of this little M.I.A ordeal (not the singer, the acronym), I have had time to really plan on where I’ve been wanting this blog to go to next. Next? Like, i.e.:
See, that’s what I’ve been struggling with! CONTENT. Content that I actually feel excited to post about, excited to share and talk about! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE MUSIC (duh..it’s muh life). However, I also love beauty. Cosmetics. Skincare. Pharmaceuticals. Makeup reviews. Makeup tips…etc, etc. I have a passion for it. It’s kinda outta control sometimes….but hey, that’s what passion is right? Errr…right.
As you all know (or may know), I am a freelance makeup artist (weddings, fun styled shoots etc). So, makeup is something I actually do on occasion. I love it! It’s a chance for me to use my artistic talents, think outside of the box, play around, relax (it’s therapeutic for me) and have fun. If there is one thing any of my friends or family would tell you about me, it’d be that I am a walking mini store (and possibly even encyclopedia) for makeup, lipsticks, and other beauty products. I constantly have swatches on my hand or arm, two or more lipsticks in my purse – actually, I think at one point I may have had like a whole mini case FULL of lipsticks and glosses (11 to be exact). I love giving advice on how to apply makeup, what to wear…what not to wear, what’s healthy for your skin, what isn’t so healthy and so on. Again, like I said, PASSION. It’s real.
(Just me being artsy..don’t worry about it.)
So, alas, here we are. Where are you going with this Sammie, you may ask? Exactly where I want to. This blog will be filled with beauty items, reviews, photos of #whatsinmypurse, #makeuptipswithsammie, occasional giveaways, tips on what to look for when purchasing makeup, tips on how to save money while doing so, luxury items, quality items, organic and holistic care (cus LAWD knows I love me some of that) and THEN – BAM – your classic A Musical Mind playlist of sorts to go along with the mood of the day/week/month! Or, just my faves at the moment. Implementing the two things I love and am passionate about: makeup and music. What could be better? Makeup, music and unending sushi? Duh. Okay, okay, but really. Hope you all like what’s comin’ for ya! I’m excited. Stay tuned, kids. The best is yet to come!
P.s. Speaking of music…here’s one of my favourite songs at the moment! A rad band from Bristol, England by the name of Meadowlark. Good stuff, good stuff!
