This look is super easy, and always complimenting all skin tones.
Step 1: Moisturize + Prime
I’m pretty combination so I like to focus on keeping my t-zone fairly free of moisturizer unless it is a mattifying one. Ursa Major’s Face Balm is my favourite right now, with the highest quality ingredients, a little goes a long way! I especially love how light it feels on my skin, refreshing and cool – plus it mattifies my face wonderfully. If I am drier, I’ll use One Love Organic’s Vitamin C Facial Serum – my favourite! Brightening and moisturizing and so, so good for your skin! Primer is not always something I apply, if I’m going for a lighter, fresher look, I typically skip it. But, if I want a more flawless, concealed look – it does woooonders at keeping makeup put and on for a while! Do what is most comfortable and what suits your skin type best.
Step 2: Brows
Fill in your brows, if you feel that they are sparse in some areas. I love using a brow wax/pomade, EcoBrow in Rita, in particular. It’s like Anastasia’s DipBrow Pomade, but free of all of the parabens and other chemicals. If you’ve got a great set of brows, then girl…rock it. (Also, I may be jealous!)
Step 3: Mascara
I like quite a lashy look for this bright-eyed effect we’re going for! The lashier, the better. Oh, and curling my lashes is KEY for me – such a game-changer. But, again, it’s what you feel comfortable with. My go-to mascara right now, and probably favourite mascara ever is the 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara in Black Tea. Ladies…it not only does an amazing job at lifting and curling, but it holds well AND smells sweet (like fruits, haha)!
Step 4: Conceal
This isn’t super necessary unless, like me, you’ve got some blue/purply under-eye bags..or any little spots you want to hide. For me, concealing is important. It not only brightens up this look (any look, really), it keeps the canvas clean and fresh. RMS’ “Un” Cover-Up is killer for achieving a great conceal – and it doubles as a foundation too (warms up and literally melts onto your skin)!
Step 5: Blush
You want a natural flush, glowy, rosy cheek kind of situation to be happening here…so, pick your favourite ‘cheeky’ shade and apply it on the apples of your cheeks. Alima Pure’s Blush in Mimosa is my favourite for achieving that ‘blushing from within’ look.
Step 6: Highlight
Again, not necessary, but I love me a good highlight! It gives you a soft, radiant, glowy look – and who wouldn’t want that? I know I do! I used the ever so loved bareMinerals Flawless Radiance for this look.
Step 6: Lips
Lip balm, lip tint, lipstick…how about all three of them in one? I’m obsessed with Kjaer Weis’ Lip Tint in Romance – a vibrant reddish-pink tone (almost coral) that gives you that pop of colour you want for this bright, fun look!
And that’s all, folks! Have fun with this look, there is no “right” or “wrong” way to rock it. If you feel confident and happy, do it up!
Hope you’re having a great night. Here’s a little tune I’m digging right now by the band Unknown Mortal Orchestra – I hope you like it! Thanks for dropping by and I’ll see you soon. Xo
