Saturday’s with Daughter

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all having a great Saturday! I haven’t posted on a weekend in a little while and I felt it necessary today because not too long ago, my good friend Jessie found this BEAUTIFUL video for the band Daughter‘s track, “Medicine“.

We watched it in awe, completely mesmerized by the beautiful way the video – which is actually a non-profit video and footage from Hedgehog in the Fog” (Yuriy Norshteyn, 1975) – captured the song. Even though this video footage is from more than 35 years ago, it is incredibly fitting to the lyrics and instrumentation, with sweet and somber notes to it.

I won’t say too much more, this Daughter track says a lot, and the animation in this video says even more. Enjoy! Xo

HAPPY SATURDAY EVERYONE! I am suuuuper pumped to announce that A Musical Mind is up on (one of my favourite) Nashville’s awesome non-profit jewelry/leather/accessories sites – Red Earth Trading Co UPDATE: Red Earth merged with Nashville company Nisolo.

“Red Earth is an ethical lifestyle brand creating hope and opportunity through fashion. We have talented artisans from around the world handcraft all of our products. Each piece is a unique blend of local artistry and heritage mixed with the influence of modern design. Many of our pieces are made from up-cycled materials.”

The rest of Red Earth’s story can be found HERE (click the linked photo below):

Aren’t they just the best? I’ve had the chance to work with them many times when I lived in Nashville and I’ve always had a great time. Their message and the heart behind all of their products are beautiful. That being said, I had the opportunity to create a playlist for their Spring 2014 line/blog and had a blast doing so – cus if you know or follow me in any way, I’m a playlist maker and (OBVIOUSLY) a music lover!

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy it – don’t forget to turn that volume WAYYYY UP LOUD! Have a wonderful Saturday lovelies! Xo
