The Sound of Design

Today’s post is inspired by beautiful interior’s. Preferably this one. The Brazilian designer-architect, Guilhermo Torres, envelopes this room with an eclectic mix of antique, old world, contemporary and retro-modern pieces. I can’t help but feel inspired.

I wanted to change things up a bit, it isn’t often we think music blog = furniture or interior design…but for me, I’m incredibly drawn to the different styles of the room. Like genres of music, almost. All genres different, beautiful in their own ways. I have never been one for simply picking a favourite and leaving it at that, I like to mix, fuse, entwine different styles of music, design, art, life..together. That is essentially who I am as a creative mind.

All that being said, here’s a little bit of classical music to ease your mind, and set the rest of your afternoon into one that is peaceful, productive and all together wonderful. :)

Playlist No. 13

Reeeeeally feelin’ this new Thievery Corporation album: Saudade. This album is fully dedicated to the Brazilian-born genre, with it’s electro-samba tunes, filled with sensuous female vocals and mesmerizing organic beats. I can’t get enough.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I am currently. Happy Monday!

Video of the Week(end)

I’ve been pretty stoked about this band lately, Sylvan Esso. Their new music video, “Coffee is exactly the title’s definition. If this track were actually a cup of joe, I’d be up every morning, eagerly. Like caffeine, this video is one giant sip of raw energy. This track, and video that goes along with it, has done the job of fueling the rest of my day in quite the refreshing manner. With the graceful vocals of Amelia Meath – reminiscent of early Regina Spektor and Feist – mixed with rockin’ synths and eclectic beats produced by Nicholas Sanborn. This duo sure knows how to make a buzz….a coffee buzz, if ya know what I mean. ;)

Have a great weekend! Xo
