Bambu Earth, Worry-Free!

Petitgrain Facial Cream + Dry Shampoo (Dark Tresses)

Don’t you find it annoying when you’re in the market for some natural products and yet you still encounter the ever so annoying urge to read every ingredient listed…just in case it should have something you’re not going to like, or that won’t be good for your body or environment. Don’t lose hope! Bambu Earth is a line of natural, sustainable, and ethical products that claims to be “worry-free”, which means you don’t have to worry about what’s on the ingredient label or how your purchase will negatively impact people or the environment. Bambu Earth sources their ingredients from providers that are fair-trade, sustainable, organic and eco-friendly. Whew! Peace of mind, right? :)

In Spring of 2009, Bambu Earth was born. Amber had a desire to live a simpler, more sustainable life. She has been making soap for over 12 years now..so you know it’s high quality, and well-crafted! The soap and skincare is created in small batches by hand in an effort to better the community and world. Amber believes that nature, created by God, provides us with all of the tools most people need to live a healthy life. For this reason, Bambu Earth uses simple, all-natural ingredients, in their rawest form in their products to provide living nutrients to the skin. Their products are made with sustainable, ethical and local ingredients.

What about the origin of the store name? Well, Bambu Earth was named after their signature ingredient: bamboo activated charcoal. This ingredient (as Amber, founder and CEO of Bambu Earth has stated) is amazing, as it draws out impurities from your skin. Bamboo is sustainable, and grown without pesticides, not to mention it replenishes itself quickly. It takes about 5 years of nurturing bamboo before you even see one sprout – pretty crazy! After that, it grows about an inch per day. It grows so rapidly, you can actually hear it growing…can you imagine?

The two products seen above are amazing, and I highly recommend looking into purchasing them, cus, I honestly don’t know what I did before them. Most of the time, I feel like I’m pampering myself whenever I use these products, and I really enjoy and appreciate the wonderful scents of the products, but without any harsh chemicals added to it!

The Petitgrain Facial Cream is what your skin has been craving!  A simple, effective cream that doesn’t have a bunch of alcohol or questionable ingredients. Something that moisturizes but doesn’t leave you greasy. And let’s be honest, it gets tiring trying cream after cream that promises the world but doesn’t deliver. Thankfully, the Petitgrain Cream is formulated with simple, effective ingredients without harsh chemicals, alcohol, or preservatives. This cream does not contain water (like most creams), so it won’t evaporate leaving your skin feeling dry hours later. All it contains are simple, quality ingredients of unrefined shea butter, sweet almond oil and organic jojoba oil to give your face the lightest all-day moisture that will penetrate deep into your skin without feeling greasy. Since these oils are non-comedogenic, they won’t clog your pores either!

Ingredients:

  • Unrefined Shea Butter (Fair-Trade) – Deep moisturizing, Vitamins A, E and F, non-comedogenic
  • Sweet Almond Oil – Light moisturizer, softens skin, abundant in Vitamin E, non-comedogenic
  • Jojoba Oil – Light moisturizer, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, compound is closest to our skin’s natural oils (sebum) making it ideal in facial care, non-comedogenic
  • Petitgrain – Useful for maintaining the skin’s moisture balance, helps clear and tone, ideal for mature and problem skin types as well as normal, oily and dry skin.

Directions
Apply very small amount to clean face. A little goes a long way. A pea sized amount of this product will moisturize your entire face and neck giving you more than 180 applications.

Dry Shampoo (Dark Tresses)

Overslept? In a hurry? Bambu Earth’s Dry Shampoo revives second day hair and absorbs extra oil so no one will ever know. It is especially formulated to give volume to limp hair and leave your tresses with a fabulous clean scent. Their blend of natural herbs soothe dry skin and horsetail powder promotes healthy hair growth! It comes in formulations for light and dark hair. The one pictured above, is for medium to dark hair, so you won’t get that gray-haired look like most dry shampoos give you – THANK GOODNESS!  This stuff is amazing! I can easily go almost a week with not washing my hair and it’ll somehow still look fresh and clean – AND smell nice too!

You definitely want to follow Bambu Earth on their social medias! You’ll be privy to discounts, possible giveaways, awesome reviews and more!

Sound Blanket Radio Show

Hey guys!

I know, I know…it’s been awhile – I’ve been royally slacking. I have no excuse. Just haven’t been good about updating and posting new content. My bad, my bad. But, that cat above makes it all better right? RIGHT.

So, anyways, moving forward….remember that time I got to do a radio show for a local station here in Charlotte? Finally, it has been posted to Sound Blanket’s website’s newly updated page. I’m super stoked! It was a blast to do, and I am really thankful that SB was gracious enough to let me host my very own radio show on their site. My favourite tunes, and a bit of fun chitter chatter in between. I loved doing it, and would love to host another one again in the near future for sure!

So sit back, relax and enjoy this mellow radio talk show host voice of mine……oh, and the music, duh! ;)

Luke Hill Has A Posse – Playlist No. 39

As some of you may already know, last week, my good friend Luke Hill was hit by a truck walking home. He suffered a broken arm, ribs and bleeding in his brain. Along all of this, he has recovered from a craniotomy and had surgery on his arm to repair broken bones. It has been nothing short of a miracle to where he is right now, today – already out of ICU, out of progressive care, and into a room that requires less supervision. He has held real conversation, recognizes people, and today, even went for a short walk. His brain injury is improving drastically and it is all because of the prayers, support and God’s unfailing love and healing power.

Luke and his wife Charis have been friends of mine now for the past 7 years. They are some of the strongest, most brave people I know (even before all of this). I am astounded and so, so thankful for the community of Charlotte, all of his family and friends coming together in prayer and encouragement. Raising money, bringing meals to him and Charis, actively doing anything and everything they can.

Speaking of which, here are some ways you can donate some money for medical expenses, meals, and just show some love to the Hills!

• Donate to Luke’s medical expenses on GoFundMe here. We’ve almost hit our goal! SO amazing.

• Bring Luke a yummy meal on Take Them A Meal’s website by clicking here. (Last name: Hill, Password: 3570)

• You can take part in Green Light Tattoo‘s raffling tickets for 3 $150 tattoos.

• Purchase a t-shirt our friend Jonathan Taylor designed here.

• And don’t forget to come to Luke’s Benefit Show – Saturday, November 15th at Neighborhood Theatre – featuring some amazing local bands like Flagship, Warsong, Solis, Jeremiah Wilde and more!

So, with all that being said, I wanted to dedicate today’s playlist to Luke! Starting off with one of his favourites, Thrice – In Exile. So enjoy, and keep on fighting Luke! We love you and are continuing to stand with you in prayer and faith during this time! :)
